makhaza community studio

A multi-purpose community studio to facilitate, amongst other activities, performing arts classes, church services and entrepreneurial workshops.

The new proposed building has been designed and detailed in a way as to have both a human scale appeal and a public scale presence. By volumetrically and aesthetically contrasting it’s context, the building becomes an urban landmark and, when lit up at night, will stand as a beacon of hope and community togetherness. The transparent nature of the facade treatment aims to architecturally develop a 'cultural intrigue' to help further promote cultural activity in and around the immediate area.

This unique and bold scheme re-looks at how local entrepreneurs can collaborate with their respective communities in a mutually beneficial way and intently bring about positive change in their environment.
